Stakeholders Meeting Scheduled

The WDDI Design Committee and the City Planning Department have scheduled an August 17th eeting to present the scope and timeline of the Streetscape Phase II project, which includes infrastructure improvements to the 500 block of West Main Street and Wayne Avenue from Federal Street  to Broad Street.

Downtown Stakeholders Meeting to be hosted by the WDDI Design Committee from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the City Council Chambers.


Consultants and staff will provide a brief presentation of the project’s scope and projected timeline to the general public and interested parties. Plans will be available for review, and questions are suggestions are encouraged.

The meeting will be held at the Charles Yancey Municipal Building at 503 West Main Street in Waynesboro.

This Federal Transportation Enhancement Grant project will focus on replacing sidewalks, adding brick pavers, landscaping, streetlights, street furniture, and bike racks to the 500 block of West Main Street. This project will also improve pedestrian safety with the provision of ADA compliant ramps, bump-outs, and crosswalks. Phase II of the Waynesboro Main Street Streetscape Project represents the conclusion of a major step in the revitalization of Downtown Waynesboro.
